We are now offering our patients
a new product called Sculptra.
It comes from Dermik
laboratories who have over 55
years of experience in the
development of pharmaceutical
products. Sculptra is
injectable poly-L-lactic acid
and it is approved by the US
food and Drug Administration
. Sculpture restores the lost
volume associated with facial
lipoatrophy through a gradual
increase in dermal thickness,
which persists for up to 2 years
after the first treatment
session. Sculptra is a
synthetic, biodegradable, and
biocompatible lactic acid
polymer. Therefore, no
skin testing is required prior
to the injection. The
treatment session takes
approximately twenty minutes to
complete. Most patients
will see an immediate
improvement in the contour of
the face and facial wrinkles.
It is then recommended to have a
second session a few weeks
later. The body will then
start to lay down collagen
fibers in the injected area.
The final result may then be
seen within 4-6 weeks. |
